Initial consultation

Design Process

We try to make this as interesting and as painless as possible! Here is a condensed version of how we work.

Initial consultation

This is free and usually takes an hour or so. We meet up, take a look at the site, show you examples of our work and discuss your ideas, brief and budget. Once you have expressed an interest in taking it further we will confirm your brief in writing and give you a written quotation to design your garden.

Concept design

If our quotation is acceptable, we ask you for written confirmation that you would like us to proceed. Then we complete a measured survey and analyse the site, aspect, soil and existing planting. Now comes the interesting bit! We present you with initial designs and perspective sketches, illustrating our various ideas for your garden, along with sample materials and finishes. All our ideas are up for discussion – we want to ensure we understand your requirements exactly.

Detail design

Based upon your feedback and discussions we develop our initial ideas into a detailed plan and specification with construction and setting-out drawings that can be issued to landscape contractors so that they can cost, and ultimately build, your garden. If you require it, we will produce a planting plan and detailed schedule identifying all the existing and proposed plants. The schedule details all plant names, types, quantities and sizes at time of planting.

Once everything has been agreed, the appointed contractor will go ahead and build your garden – tailor-made for you.

"Our garden covers everything – it has stunning drought resistant plants, beautiful colours and smells and great spaces for relaxing.

Everything we asked for we got and we regularly stand outside and just think ‘wow’!"
